"Stone Garden Bench" a small new oil painting on stretched canvas. Tis is one of my favorite spot to hang out in my garden

A small oil painting  (8"x10") on stretched canvas. Titled, " Stone Garden Bench".This was my first painting using water soluble oils. They are soy based paints that work like oil paints but don't have the fumes and clean up with water. The subject is a stone bench that I built in my garden ,one of my favorite places to hang out in the season.

Framed nature mandala,an acrylic painting,,"Butterfly Wings",the mandala is made of the wing of tiger swallowtail butterflies.

• This is the first piece of the new year, a nature mandala ,entitled "Butterfly Wings". By starting with a mandala, I'm hoping to to focus my art, to change the passivity of my focus and imbue my work with more passion and emotion in the coming year.
